Jan asked me some weeks ago if I could organize the races for IMM in Germany.
I use an self- optimized Texel Rating for about 70 Multihull-Races till today sailed in the Med and Balticsea. I know there is no ideal rating for races for all different boats in any weather conditions. But I figgured out some usefull rectified factors on the basic nico boon rating. Most of participants of the race had been quite satisfied with the results. All the years we had (allOver) different winners such as Lagoon 420 ,380; outremer 45,BaltiCat 42, Belize, or lavezzi. It always depended on the sailors (and lucky windfinders) to win i belive.
But I do not have much experience with Tri`s - I think they should sail on its own class.
Most delicate factor are the accurate dimensions like sailarea, weight etc. Usually I trie to weigh the boats with my own crane- but that won`t be possible with a fleet expected at IMM....
